HERSHEY Country Club
Adds Fourth Course to Its Collection
(Hershey, PA) – Hershey
Entertainment & Resorts
announced that it will assume the management
of the golf course formerly known as Wren Dale
Golf Club.
Carrying on the tradition and prestige of championship
golf that are at the heart of the HERSHEY
Resorts golf experience, HERSHEY Links (formerly
Wren Dale Golf Club) has been added to the HERSHEY
Golf Collection and will be managed by HERSHEY
Country Club.
“HERSHEY
Links is regarded among the most challenging courses
in Pennsylvania and now forms a compelling trio
for our members and guests of HERSHEY Resorts,”
said Ted J. Kleisner, President and CEO of Hershey
Entertainment & Resorts Company. “The addition
of HERSHEY Links to our golf collection
allows us to enhance the exceptional service and
amenities our guests and members expect.”
Overlooking Hershey
from nearby Hummelstown, HERSHEY Links was
designed by the noted golf course architectural
firm of Hurzdan-Fry. HERSHEY Links, which
opened in 2000, provides a contemporary design
to the HERSHEY Golf Collection, already known for
the East and West courses at historic HERSHEY Country
Club.
The general public,
guests of HERSHEY Resorts and HERSHEY Country
Club members will have the opportunity to play
HERSHEY Links.
HERSHEY Links
stretches along natural bluffs and ravines that
create a peaceful setting overlooking Hershey,
while providing ample shot-making challenges. Playing
to 7,009 yards from the longest of five sets of
tees, the par 72 features Bentgrass greens, fairways
and tees accented throughout the course by tall,
golden-brown fescues. An expansive practice facility
centrally located on the property includes a double-sided
range more than 300 yards deep, three target greens
that replicate the demands of the golf course and
complete short-game areas. A new clubhouse at HERSHEY
Links is scheduled to open in the spring
of 2009.
Consistently ranked
among the top golf resorts in the United States,
the HERSHEY Golf Collection now features
63 holes of golf, including three championship
courses and the historic Spring Creek Golf Course.
